Gecko Programmes Ltd is an active promoter of the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme and delivers a number of projects within the Leonardo strand.
Our first project was a two week programme that allowed young people in the labour market to go to La Coruña in Spain for work and cultural experience.
Since then our involvement with the Leonardo Programme has flourished and expanded. We now send young people to Spain, Germany and Malta and have developed new partnerships allowing us to also receive interns from other EU nations, particularly Italy and Portugal.
Our current programmes range from two to thirteen weeks. The longer programmes allow for language and cultural training before placements and also give more scope for structured work plans that benefit both the participant and the host employer.
We have further developed our European Partnerships so that we lead a curriculum development partnership for mentoring in the Hospitality Leisure Travel and Tourism Sector (PA4T) and are an active partner in a curriculum development partnership for Event Management (InPUT)
