30 FREE places available to attend a Half Day course in Enterprise Mentoring
‘Get Mentoring’ is part of a major government initiative to train those who work with, in and for small and medium sized businesses to become business mentors. This half day course, is delivered in partnership with Gecko Programmes, by Shine P&P. It is aimed at people who provide support to enterprise (start-up or existing); in clusters, communities, and within existing businesses.
Whether an established business development practitioner with Select Supply history, a community actor who supports people into their own enterprises, or you are considering personal development as a mentor in your current business, this course introduces the skills and techniques used in mentoring, focuses upon supporting the development of micro-enterprises, and introduces the standards required by SFEDI’s new Enterprise Mentoring qualifications.
Shine P&P is a SFEDI Centre Approved Provider and Mentoring Specialist, who will provide an introduction to the role of the mentor. In particular it will enable participants to:
- Understand and practice the skills and tools required by a mentor.
- Examine the competing aspects, demands and pressures that face a small business.
- Use a structured approach to deliver effective sessions with the mentee.
- Gain familiarity with national standards for mentoring.
- Plan future CPD activities.
The course is also an introduction to the standards required to achieve the SFEDI Level 3 Award or Level 4 Certificate in Enterprise Mentoring. These new qualifications are aimed at developing the skills and mentoring techniques that are relevant to smaller businesses; mentoring via online networks, group/peer mentoring through to structured, managed programmes of mentoring.
