30 places available to attend a Half Day course in ‘Enterprise Mentoring’ leading to SFEDI L3 Award & L4 Certificate

‘Get Mentoring’ is part of a major government initiative to train those who work with, in and for small and medium sized businesses to become business mentors. The half day course provides an introduction to the role of the mentor to ensure that new mentors have the right level of knowledge and understanding to undertake the role. The Work Programme, free recruitment and vacancy matching service for Employers

Gecko, in partnership with 3SC and the Newcastle College Group now delivers the Work Programme to over 500 customers in both our Wolverhampton and Birmingham offices.

Through this we can offer a free recruitment service to employers for customers on the programme. This includes pre employment training, and matching suitable clients to the vacancy. Gecko will only submit customers to employers that meet all of the criteria of the role.

Gecko, in partnership with Bournville College, is offering two exciting new courses that are aimed at developing skills for the events industry – and supporting people into jobs in the industry. The courses are free to eligible applicants.

LIVE EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS

An eight week part-time programme offering training in supporting live events and promotions together with coaching in role-focused employability. The programme is targeted at learners who have an interest in contributing to the marketing and delivery of a live event in an administrative and/or a support role :

Indoor or outdoor events
One-off events
Tours
Small or large scale productions

There are optional two-week work placements in Spain, that are funded by the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme

STEWARDING AT SPECTATOR EVENTS

A five week part-time programme, offering training in stewarding at spectator events, together with coaching in role-focused employability. The programme is targeted at learners who are seeking employment in Event Stewarding/Spectator Safety industry.

Stewards may be required in the following situations:

Heritage sites
Sports grounds
Cultural and performance events
Festivals
Promotional events and exhibitions

ELIGIBILITY

To satisfy funding requirements, learners must be:

Aged 19 or above
Registered unemployed and in receipt of JSA or ESA.
Resident in Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry or the Black Country.
